| I recently went to a workshop by a battery expert who advised us not to charge over 80%, especially with higher voltages, and that it doesn't matter how long the battery sits at full charge. The problem is spikes 10mv above 100% SOC during charging that lead to instant and permanent deposits of lithium in the graphite anode. The higher the voltage and the closer to 100% SOC the more spikes. Batteries are made with extra lithium in the cathode to help reduce the effect of these deposits. | |
