The one time I ran the Model S until it shut down was somewhat intensional. The car got stranded overnight near the top of Donner Pass in a sudden snowstorm and 10 degree overnight temperatures. The next day when I went to pick it up, the car had zero range and regen was suspended due to the cold. Figuring I had nothing to lose, I attempted to coast downhill to a charger in truckee, but ran the car complete out of juice a few blocks short.
